Made by Pip Grinter. This fits both his and Michael's larger holed Rudall model which could accept this and a C body as well.

An Eb center body in like-new condition, dated 2026. This listing is for the center body only; the head and foot joints are not included.

The practical value of this piece lies in its interchangeability. Pip's design allows a D flute to take Eb and C extensions by swapping the centre pieces while retaining the same head and foot joint. This body is confirmed by Pip to be compatible with his father Michael's previous large-holed model as well. A player who already owns a Pip or Michael Grinter large-holed D flute can use this body to extend their setup to cover Eb without investing in a second complete flute. At the time of this posting, a six-key Pip Grinter D flute is also available in the shop, making it possible to acquire the two pieces together.

About the Maker

The Grinter workshop was founded over 35 years ago by Michael Grinter and Helen McGeachin, and over that time it developed into one of the world's highest-profile flute-making workshops. Pip Grinter is a second-generation maker, continuing the family tradition under the P. Grinter Flutes name. Pip's flutes are based on the Rudall and Rose design, come with an adjustable cork and tuning slide, and feature sterling silver keys and rings, currently offered in African Blackwood.
