French flutes, while not sought after for Irish sessions, are great flutes with very sophisticated design features. This flute has the usual small holes, and the "lighter" feel compared to a British flute, making it adaptable for either early classical flute, or the range of traditional music that wood flutes are now being employed in. A little judicious re-reaming on compressed tenons etc, and a tidying up of the embouchure have yielded a flute with a surprisingly powerful tone. The embouchure is not as tiny as a Baroque flute, so is more accessible to a modern flute player who wants to start playing simple system flutes, and wants a wooden flute that will sound more like early flutes than a silver flute does.......and you get a very nice cocus wood headjoint!
Good condition. Missing two tenon caps which do not affect playability. Lower C/C# key pads work, not quite perfect but are usable.
