Alexander Liddle Cocus 8-Key

$1,99999
Condition: Used - Excellent

A rare antique 8-keyed flute by the prominent London maker Alexander Liddle, crafted from Cocuswood with nickel silver keys and Nicholson finger holes. This concert flute, dating between 1847 and 1879 (London, UK), is unmarked except for the silver keys stamped with "AL" (Alexander Liddle).

Though it performs best at a higher pitch with the headjoint pushed in, it can also be played at A440 with the slide extended 1/2". The entire instrument has been cleaned, polished, and checked with new pads. It has one filled crack on the lined head, fully repaired and serviced by the renowned flute maker Aaron O’Hagan (the crack’s mark is very discreet and hardly visible).

The instrument is sold with a fitted hard case.
